Mongolia is advancing the development of its safeguards approach and National Forest and Climate Change Strategy, with a workshop on benefits and risks assessment of proposed ‘policies and measures’ being held in Ulaanbaatar today.

Supported by the UN-REDD Mongolia National Programme and facilitated by UN Environment World Conservation Monitoring Centre, representatives from different sectors of government and civil society are carrying out an assessment of the potential benefits and risks related to a set of ‘policies and measures’ proposed for inclusion in the country’s National Strategy. The workshop is being led by the newly established Mongolia Technical Working Group on Safeguards and Safeguards Information System.
