Description: 

 

The objective of the support is to strengthen the NFMS and related institutions, in particular the GHG department, to ensure the sustainability and consistency of the current monitoring system:

 

 

  • Development of protocols to classify images from remote sensors, which can serve as a methodological guide to monitoring degradation emissions and other REDD+ activities;

  • Establishment of a protocol on permanent forest plots monitoring;

  • Build up local technical capacity on forestry monitoring and related topics;

  • Institutional strengthening, in particular of the GHG department, to ensure the sustainability and consistency of the current monitoring system.
