The Pakistan Ministry of National Disasters Management organized a one-day "National Consultative Workshop on Social and Environmental Principles and Criteria for REDD+ Safeguards" on Thursday 12 January in Islamabad. Read more.

 

 

Pakistan's Inspector General of Forests, Syed Nasir Mehmood, said that the country has been taking social and environmental safeguards into account while developing their national REDD+ programme. Additionally, Pakistan has increased its forest cover by 1% since adopting the MDGs.
