The second UN-REDD Asia-Pacific Regional Information Exchange Meeting will be held in Bogor, West Java, Indonesia, 19-20 April, 2012, on the subject of measures to ensure the right to Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC). Read more details on the meeting here.



Pilot FPIC exercises have been conducted by UN-REDD Programmes in Viet Nam and Indonesia; PNG and Indonesia have developed FPIC guidelines and procedures; the Philippines have an institutionalized FPIC process; and Cambodia is planning early action on FPIC.  Therefore, the meeting will serve as a platform to exchange lessons and experience on the practice of FPIC. 
Participants will include government and civil society/NGO participants from all UN-REDD countries in the region, as well as from Malaysia, Ecuador and Paraguay.  UN Agency staff will also be attending.  The information generated by the meeting will be captured and disseminated through various forms of publications and reports.
