The REDD+ Academy was designed to support developing countries to gain the knowledge and capacities needed to deliver REDD+ at the scale required to match the global climate change mitigation challenge. Two years ago, the UN-REDD Programme launched the first REDD+ Academy – organized as a live, regional learning forum in Asia-Pacific, which then expanded to Africa and the Latin America/Caribbean regions. Nationally focused training events followed, strengthening the capacity of more than one thousand UN-REDD Partner Country participants in 2016.
