Information Brief on UN-REDD Gender Marker Rating System

uploaded by Elizabeth Eggerts

Acknowledging the critical role of gender in REDD+, the UN-REDD Programme has been striving to systematically promote gender equality in its work since 2008. As a result of these efforts, the need was identified for a more holistic, systematic and comparable approach to measuring how gender has been integrated into UN-REDD work. In response, the UN-REDD Gender Marker Rating System was created in 2017 to track and monitor the gender responsiveness of UN-REDD’s technical assistance. An Information Brief has been prepared, which details the scale, criteria and application of this Gender Marker Rating System.

Spatial Analysis: A Tool for Integrated Land Use Planning for REDD+

This brief brings together country experiences to identify the critical success factors in the development of spatial analyses to inform REDD+ implementation, and their uptake into national REDD+ strategy and implementation plans. It aims to provide information and lessons learned to those countries that are still preparing their national REDD+ strategies or action plans (NS/APs), as well as to those who have already approved a NS/AP and that are now in the process of developing investment or implementation plans for specific REDD+ jurisdictions, policies or measures.

uploaded by Marcela Rodríguez Salguero

Exposure to Risks Posed by Unsustainable Land Use: What Can Burmese Banks Do?

Land use is the foundation of the Burmese economy. As the Burmese banking sector develops and expands, it will be exposed to new challenges associated with unsustainable land use and deforestation. This brief is the second in a two-part series; the first info brief examined how the Burmese banking sector could be exposed to risk generated through unsustainable land use and deforestation. This second part focuses on measures that Burmese banks can take to minimize any exposure to unsustainable land use and deforestation, while aligning their portfolio with sustainable and profitable businesses that are able to foster and reinforce a healthy functioning environment.

Beneficios Múltiples de REDD+ en Costa Rica: Análisis Espaciales para Apoyar la Toma de Decisiones

uploaded by Miriam Guth
