The UN-REDD Programme is pleased to announce the launch of the Resource Guide for Advanced Learning on REDD+, produced by UN CC:Learn, as part of its Resource Guides for Advanced Learning on Climate Change series. The guide includes resources from key REDD+ technical information sources including the UN-REDD Programme and its collaborating UN agencies (FAO, UNDP and UNEP), Forest Carbon Partnership Facility, and others.

The Resource Guides for Advanced Learning on Climate Change series facilitates access to existing climate change learning materials and supports the development of complementary learning resources, as appropriate. Resource Guides are compiled for selected topics of climate change for which a wealth of learning resources is available and that have been identified as important topics from a country perspective.

The Resource Guide for Advanced Learning on REDD+ draws on available high-quality REDD+ capacity building materials -- drawn primarily from within the UN system, but also from other respected sources.

The UN CC:Learn Secretariat highlights that, "This guide can be used by learners who are new to the topic of REDD+, but also by those who already know the basics but want to learn a little more."

It is written from the perspective of a learner seeking to obtain an understanding of what materials are available for key REDD+ topics, and includes nearly 50 resources organized into five "learning topic" sections:

  • Preparing for REDD+
  • Strengthening a Legal and Regulatory Framework for REDD+
  • Fulfilling REDD+ Data Needs
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Financing for REDD+

The guide is available in both PDF format, as well as an interactive online format, which has now been integrated into the UN-REDD Programme's Online Collaborative Workspace
